Learning at the heart of everything we do

Whitehall Infant School Virtual sports week 29/06/20 - 03/07/20

Welcome to Whitehall sports week! We are bringing sports day to you, as we cannot have it at school.

We have got two different types of challenges for you, one indoor challenge and one outdoor challenge. If you are feeling really brave and really energetic, you can take part in both!

There are five activities for each challenge and they need to be repeated every single day. This way, we can see if you have made improvements by getting better at each activity each day. Use the learning powers to help you get through each challenge! You can use ‘Have a go Harry’, ‘Don’t give up Dylan’ and If you are able to improve your score each day, you can also use ‘Improving Imogen!’

These sports challenges are not just for the children, we want to see the grown ups getting involved aswell. Keep track of how the members of your family are getting on, so you can see who the champion is.

We would love to see lots of photographs of you having fun completing your sports day at home, so please send in your photos to

The most important thing to remember whilst completing these challenges is to have fun!

Miss Carter has made handy demonstration videos below to help you see how to complete the activities. Can you spot her dog in the videos? Click on the images below to watch the videos.

How many burpees or star jumps can you do in 30 seconds?

How far can you throw a teddy bear? Can you get it from one end of the room to the other?

Balance a potato on a spoon with one hand behind your back. This time however, let’s see if you can get from one end of your garden to the other without dropping the potato!

Can you balance a book on your head whilst take six steps forward and six steps back?

Jump as far as possible and use a marker (a pencil, pen or shoe for example) to see how far you can jump. Can you jump the furthest in your family? You must start on two feet and land on two feet for it to be a successful jump.
